Day 59

Sunday challenge: Make a photo that invokes or communicates happiness to the viewer. Make 'em feel it, not just see it!

I've been living vicariously through them for more than two weeks. I'm so sad to see the Olympics come to a close...
A dogs happiness.

Day 58

The horizon can be a strong composition element. Make a photograph that emphasizes the horizon today.

The smudges are the windshield - snapped this while driving north on I95 (should I admit to snapping and driving at the same time in a borrowed car? Sorry Carey....)
Finding a true horizon here is impossible.  Feel the need to take as many pictures of Enterprise before I leave it.
(no apology needed El)

Day 57

Novelty can help goose creativity. Go somewhere today you've never been, even just a different street, and make a photo.

Posted by Picasa  This may look like a Christmas picture, but it was today on my way back from Montgomery.  I pass these little houses that look so much like a throw back to the Yeoman Farmer on the main road, but took a road close by and saw this cute little place.

Day 56

Negative space can be just as important to a composition as your primary subject. Explore negative space in a photograph.

Day 55

There is often a conflict between traditional and contemporary. Make a photo that shows this tension.

Posted by Picasa James' new dump truck from Christmas, all plastic.  Jym's tow truck from his Pop Pop when he was a boy, all metal with a working crank to drag the towing item in.  It is a sign of the times we live in.  One made to last generations, the other to be thrown away when you tire of it. Judge for yourself.

Day 54

Monochrome photos don't have to be the result of processing or desaturation. Find a monochrome composition and shoot it.

Day 53

Squares and grids surround us in our built environment. Focus in on some squares today and make a photograph.

A bonus photo I couldn't resist at the Sawgrass Clubhouse tonight:

I did not notice all the high tech gear on this tower until I loaded it on the computer.  Hmmmmm.

Day 52

Backgrounds are tricky. They can make a subject stand out or distract from it. Make a photo with a good background today.

Day 51

An old adage in photography says if you want to improve your photographs, move closer. Fill your frame today!

Day Forty nine

Frames outline the focus of a subject. Make a creative photo with natural framing: windows, doors, trees, borders, etc.

Day Forty eight

Fragility conveys tension. Make a photo today of a person or object in a fragile state.

Day Forty four

Odd or even: Compose an image with an odd or even number of subjects today, and make a photo.

This is the only picture I took today.  It is of Owen our neighbor.  I find it both odd in number, and just plain odd.

I haven't counted, but there are either an even or an odd amount of coins...

PS: Not that I'm trying, but Carey's picure is impossible to top!!

Day Forty three

Continuing the Friday fun theme, make a photo that goes with the title of a book you've read.

Day Forty two

We often get stuck in a rut of always zooming to the longest focal length. Break out today by making a wide-angle photo.

Day Forty one

We all have some sort of hobby or favorite activity. Make a photo that shows something you enjoy doing.

Day Forty

Franz Kafka said "Anyone who keeps the ability to see beauty never grows old." Make a photo of something beautiful today.

Day Thirty nine

Pet photos are such a cliche, but they're also cute. Make an interesting photo of a pet today.

I can't decide, so I'm posting both. Calm and crazy...

A fish is not an easy subject to catch.  That is sort of funny.

Day Thirty eight

Challenge: Practice storytelling today. Look for 3 images that tell a story, and make a set of photos that go together.

Neither of us have done this assignment yet because:
a. Three pictures in one day?!
b. Super Bowl!

More fun on a Friday: Make a photo that goes with the title of a movie you've seen, interpreted any way you like!
